Beginning in February 2021 our newly engaged daughter began the search for her wedding venue. We are part time residents of Lakeville Connecticut and the couple wanted a country wedding. They visited several known wedding venues in the area and none of them appealed. Our daughter Sarah had definite ideas of what her wedding would be like. On their own and after extensive research they found Thee Ellsworth Manor in Sharon Connecticut, a mere 20 minutes from our home. We immediately made an appointment to visit the site and that began a wonderful journey with Gary Olsen, the owner of the property.
July 10 turned out to be the only nice day surrounded by ten rainy days. The property was beautiful, the ceremony was on a hillside with its own view. Cocktails were on the lawn overlooking the distant mountains, the tent itself was beautiful inside and out, the guests were stunned many of whom lived near bye and had no idea there was such a beautiful event space so close. At sunset many guests left the tent to gaze at the beautiful sight....
My husband and I basked in the glow of what we deemed to be a perfect and beautiful wedding and the guests all echoed that sentiment. Most importantly the bride and groom were extremely satisfied...their wedding exceeded their expectations!!
There are no adequate words to express our gratitude to Gary Olsen and his THEE ELLSWORTH MANOR. We stand ready to recommend this venue to anyone looking for the perfect outdoor space for their wedding.

I cannot say enough about Thee Ellsworth Manor. The view alone is enough to inspire your special day. My husband and I had quite the tall order for even the most seasoned venue- weekend rental, outside catering, live band, and tranquil scenery. After a few unsuccessful visits to other locations, we stumbled upon The Manor. Tucked into the hills of Connecticut, Thee Ellsworth Manor certainly had everything we were looking for and offered even more. The majority of our wedding party was able to stay in the two homes located on the property, adding a certain ease to the weekend. Gary could not have been more accommodating. He was no more than a phone call away throughout our entire planning process and was present during our multiple trips to the property. The weekend of our wedding was no exception. Gary coordinated the parking for our 250 guests and ensured the logistics of the day ran smoothly. With sole rental of the property, we were able to put personal touches on our reception and truly make our food truck festival-style wedding exactly what we dreamed of. While traditionally most guests may comment on the centerpieces or how beautiful the ceremony was, the majority of ours included, "Are you sure your venue was in Connecticut?" and "We had so much fun!!" My husband and I have and will continue to reminisce about our big day for years to come. Thee Ellsworth Manor is truly a hidden gem and we are so lucky to have spent those precious moments together on the top of the world."

We feel so blessed to have had the opportunity to have our wedding ceremony at Ellsworth Manor, we are having a hard time putting into words how amazing it was. It was more than we could have imagined or hoped for. And the day went so smoothly. Our guests were blown away by the views and estate and they kept saying "I can't believe that this is right in Connecticut!" Gary was incredibly helpful throughout the whole processes and was very responsive to all of our questions that came up along the way. There is truly nothing like this place and I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a unique, one in a million venue for their special day.

Ceremony at Thee Ellsworth Manor
We held our wedding celebration on the property of Thee Ellsworth Manor in early July. We were looking for a place that was more unique than a typical banquet hall and this place definitely fit the bill. It's secluded, at the top of a hill, with gorgeous views. We had a bit of rain and a thick fog that rolled in and completely covered the view for our guests, but it still managed to be a beautiful venue for our party that our guests really enjoyed. One thing to note: Most of the testimonials mention how Ruth and Gary were so helpful in coordinating the details of their wedding and how well they handled everything day of. We didn't want a venue that had wedding coordinators doing all that for us. As a Type A kind of person who had a specific idea in mind for every single detail of the day, I preferred working directly with the rental vendors, and setting everything up how we wanted it day of. So just know that you do also have the option to go this route, if that's what you're looking for.Despite us having more of a DIY set up, Gary was quick to respond whenever we had questions leading up to the event date. And day of while we were setting up, he was very helpful, getting in touch with our vendor directly when there was an issue with our lights. He was very accommodating, and even went above and beyond with a specific special request we had. We had a lovely wedding celebration, and would definitely recommend the venue to anyone looking for a special place to get married and celebrate.

We can not even begin to explain how incredible Thee Ellsworth Manor is. First off, Gary and Ruth were very inviting and a great team to work with. They make you feel more than comfortable and accomodate your every want and need. It was a pleasure to work with such an amazing family. Our wedding was beyond everything we've ever dreamed of all because of Gary and Ruth. Thee Ellsworth Manor, located on a mountaintop in beautiful Sharon Connecticut, has spectacular breathtaking vistas where you have panoramic views of The Catskill Mountains. When you turn onto the country dirt driveway and see Thee Ellsworth Manor sign, its just nature at its best. We had the option of having our wedding ceremony by a beautiful man made pond with views of the fall foliage with a wood bridge or up near the reception tent with mountain views. We chose near the tent just because of our 200 guest count, however both spots were like they were out of a wedding magazine. The estate and the guest house were both very beautiful inside and out, very clean; we felt very at home. Ryan, I and our guests were very pleased. Up near the main house, where we took some of our wedding photos, there is a scenic wooded path that leads you to a lookout of the entire mountain and reception area. Our fall wedding was filled with a variety of colors: orange, red, yellow, green, wildflowers, pink/blue/red sunsets with a clear sky, again absolutely 100% everything we've ever wanted on our special day. Our tented reception from Cartwright Tent Rentals was everything we wanted from the tables to the decorations to the lighting again on top overlooking the Catskills. Most guests came up to us saying how serene and unreal the view really was. It was a perfect night under the stars, dancing the night away with our family and friends by our side All because Thee Ellsworth Manor exists. Thanks again to Gary & Ruth! We are blessed to have those memories forever and to be husband and wife.

Thee Ellsworth Manor was our first and last location when we were looking for wedding venues. The minute we stepped out of our car onto the mountain top we knew this is where we would get married. The views alone were nothing short of perfection! Ruth was so helpful in fulfilling our dream wedding, down to every detail. We were stress free on the weekend of our wedding knowing that Ruth and Gary had everything under control. They were so easy to work with and helped us create the wedding we pictured in our minds come to life. They went up and above to make sure our guests were happy. The manor was a perfect spot to spend the night with my wedding party and to prepare for the wedding. The entire property is beautiful. I still have guests from the wedding telling me they have never been to a wedding like this before and they thought it was the most beautiful spot for a wedding. Our weekend at the manor felt like a home away from home. We had family members renting another home on the property and it was so nice having the whole family all in one area. If you are looking for a stress free, beautiful views, and a place you can create your perfect wedding you always dreamed of then Thee Ellsworth Manor is the perfect location to start the next chapter in your life as a married couple.
