Our History

Ellsworth Manor was founded by Norwald Olsen, a Norwegian immigrant from Grimstad, Norway. It sits atop one of the highest points in Northwestern Connecticut with incomparable views of Connecticut, New York and Massachusetts that provide an environment in which one visitor said, "you feel ten minutes from heaven".

Ellsworth Manor is in Sharon Connecticut; a town characterized by its quiet, semi-rural, atmosphere and a strong determination to preserve it. Sharon and the surrounding towns sponsor year round activities with a cultural and artistic focus. The romance of old New England churches is a highlight for distant visitors.

Weddings

Weddings at Thee Ellsworth Manor are very memorable. The weddings are held on a clearing on the top of Ellsworth Mountain that offers 100 mile views overlooking 2,000 acres of The National Audubon Society and preserve land.

The Manor

Thee Ellsworth Manor makes a great honeymoon spot. All rooms with full baths, king size beds and the highest standard of service we can offer our guests. Fresh and creative cuisine is prepared in the best American and European tradition. Free high speed internet access.

If we host your wedding and you have relatives that are traveling a great distance to be with you, they can stay at The Manor before or after the wedding.
